Our New Adventure!

After we left Mardon, our plan is to go to Grande Hot Springs in La Grande, Oregon for relaxation in the hot pools. We did not purchase fuel near Mardon, planning to obtain it further down the road. Unfortunately the towns are wide apart, and not nearly as populated as we anticipated. We were becoming alarmed about finding a fuel station. Fortunately we encountered a TA truck stop where we purchased not only fuel, but the unhealthy fried foods we dearly love.

The road trip was very relaxing and other than the fuel issue we did not have problems. We enjoy driving the back roads because we can slow down to enjoy the scenery, and this time was no exception. The weather was stellar during the road trip and quite memorable because of the farmland we traversed.

We checked into Grande Hot Springs Resort without incident, and we like the family feel of the folks that own the place. Each time we visit we enjoy chatting with the gal at the front desk who is one of the owners. She told us that they had purchased the old hotel and were planning a complete renovation including restaurants, pubs, and the like. Although it will be separate from the RV park, there will be a trail so the RV visitors can enjoy the other hot pools.

Cheri wanted to visit the hot pools so we got ready for a splash. The resort has two pools, a small pool and a large one. The smaller pool contains hotter water. After finishing with the hot pools we went back to the trailer and leisurely prepared dinner. We enjoyed our food and settled down to a few of our favorite Netflix shows. I must admit that Grande Hot Springs is one of my favorite places to visit.

Now, it’s off to McCall RV Resort next with exploration of the area in search of more hot springs to enjoy!
