Butte Montana: World Museum of Mining

One of my favorite cities to visit in the Pacific Northwest is Butte, Montana, and definitely a “must see” is the World Museum of Mining. We took this trip back in 2007, and the beauty of it all is that it remains as pristine now as it did 15 years ago.

Tulip Festival 2019

Well, it was finally time to travel to northwest Washington for the annual tulip festival. We wanted to drive the scenic back roads and chose US-2. The plan was to travel to Leavenworth for an overnight stay at Icicle River RV Resort. The park (not a resort) is old style, but the sites on the river are quite good, alternating between motor home and trailer sites so you need not look at someone else’s utilities. Diesel was $3.08 at Safeway, and $3.29 or higher everywhere else.

Guitar Festival 2019

We went to the Walla Walla guitar festival, and met up with Randy and Sandy for three days of music fun. While the music was a bit loud, it was good. Many of the vocals however were not intelligible because the singer was screaming into the microphone so I could not understand what they were singing much of the time.

Sumpter Dredge

As part of our annual trip to Winchester Bay on the Oregon coast, we decided this time to go the Oregon scenic route OR-26 through the central part of the State. On the way we stayed the night in Baker City and visited the Sumpter Dredge for a few hours.
