Revett Lake, an Easy Hike

Jul 8, 2005 | Featured, Hiking, Road Trips | 0 comments

Start the season with an easy hike

Revett Lake is a nice, somewhat remote place to visit and go fishing or simply enjoy the experience with the family. Only an hour from Coeur d’Alene to the trailhead, this is an easy hike ending at the high mountain lake. Of course, things might have changed within the last 17 years, but it would still be interesting to visit to compare how it was back in 2005. Today the Forest Service claims “Heavy usage”, but back then, we were the only people we saw all day.

I also went backing with my oldest son also in 2005, and we spent excellent father/son time – these are the kinds of experiences one remembers for a lifetime. I’m planning to post an album of that trip, which is a bit more extensive than this one.

Elevation gain is less than 1000 feet (high point is a bit over 5000 feet). If you are interested in USGS maps, this is useful: Cooper Gulch and Burke

This trail is a very scenic, easy hiking trail through some of the most remote country on the District. There is a split log bridge crossing Cascade Creek. Camping and fishing are available at the lake.
