Glamping at Winchester Bay
Glamping at Winchester Bay, Fall 2021
This area is our favorite destination location on the Oregon coast. I wasn’t entirely sure of what to title this post, but Glamping at Winchester Bay seemed appropriate. We typically go once or twice a season either in the spring or in the fall. These are a few snapshots of our first day or two on the coast. We lucked out with good weather because this time of the year can be a bit rainy.
We usually make our reservations a year in advance and we have been lucky enough to get a waterfront site for the past few years. Because our rig is a rear living space fiver with plenty of windows, we always have a fantastic view of the bay.
This time we came with a large supply of firewood and we planed to have a fire whenever the weather was good. Unfortunately we typically have the bad luck of having stormy weather when we are prepared for a fire. When the weather is good in the bay, it is really, really good, and when the weather is bad… oh well, it is time to spend the day traveling up the coast, or doing crafts inside the rig.
We will often go to the lighthouses in the area, but one thing we always do is go beachcombing, often right down the road toward the dunes.
When it is time to pack it up and go home, it is always a bit sad to be leaving, and we already look forward to the next year.
Yes, glamping at Winchester Bay is one of favorite things to do.
I can’t wait to go back next year!
