Silver Valley Nordic

We wanted to do more cross country skiing today so we decided to head up the Silver Valley. First we went through Smelterville, then Kellog, but did not find what we wanted. Further up the freeway we went to the Big Creek exit and found The Shont trailhead on The Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes.

2017 Farragut Year End RV

The last trip of the year has been Farragut State Park where we enjoy relaxing, cooking for one another, frisbee golf, and sometimes kayaking. The only downside is that the park turns off water and the bathrooms are closed for the season. However, most importantly, power is available.

Roman Nose Lakes

Located in the Selkirk Mountains, the Roman Nose Lakes trail is about 4 miles round trip. The trail is relatively easy and in the fall, huckleberry picking is not bad (depending on the year). The drive from Coeur d’Alene is about 2.5 hours north in the Bonner’s Ferry area.

Backpacking Revett Lake

Backpacking Revett lake had been a sort of “bucket list” item for my son and I. A prior post outlined a hike to the lake with my sweetheart. This time, which was a couple of days earlier was with my son, and we spent the night in a tent on the edge of Revett lake. On the docket was fishing, eating fresh fish, and of course, good conversation.
